Biography

Sophia Johnson-Parks was ordained as a Local Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in August 2017. Affectionately called Rev Sophia, she is a graduate of Cass Technical High School and obtained her Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Walsh College in June of 1973.

Sophia currently works at Wayne State University as a Grant & Contract Officer in the Department of Research and has been there for 22 years. Sophia has 3 sons, Darell, police officer in Louisville Kentucky, Sherman and Tarell Wagner. Sophia is the Chaplain for Wayne State University UA

Sophia serves on the Ministry Staff of Bethel AME Church as one of the Associate Pastors, as well as being a part of the Prayer Ministry, Beyond the Walls Ministry, and is affiliated with Kingdom Daughters Kingdom Builders for many years.

She has attended Biblical Training Institutes down through the years and has earned many certificates.
